the costs and benefits of two or more potential solutions in order to arrive
at a priority ranking. There is almost always more than one possible
solution to a problem. Most people want to choose the one that makes
the most economic sense. They want the one that gives them the most benefits
for the lowest cost. Cost-benefit analysis is a method by which each
proposed solution can be evaluated in a similar fashion.
